School + fun = learning. Who knew?

We switched curriculum this year and I am still very nervous about it. Well yesterday was a good day! It started off real shaky. We were supposed to learn the Greek alphabet. Fun! In the project section, it suggested using shaving cream spread out on a counter to practice writing the alphabet. At first I thought "umm, I don't know." So after the younger ones took their nap, we broke out Daddy's shaving cream. They had so much fun and they actually learned a little something. Neat!

Blair's alpha (capital alpha looks like our capital A) Blake uh, I don't know.... Having fun with letters? He tried to use the Greek letters to spell out his name. Blaise's Beta (looks like our B ) He does not like writing but, did very good at writing the Greek alphabet!
So there ya have it! Learning can be fun. Still praying we made the right decision for this school year. Looks like we are off to a solid start.

We got a TREE!

We finally got a tree. I have been wanting a real tree for a while now. Last year I decided it was THE year for one. However, with Blair's transplant and low immunity, that was out. So this year, I was getting a real tree and we did it! It is a very lovely tree. The kids had so much fun picking it out, cutting it down and collecting "little trees" for their rooms. The little ones collected small branches for their very own Charlie Brown tree! It was such a great family time together. And would you believe they all behaved? A Christmas miracle (he he)! Happy Halloween!

Ok, We don't actually celebrate Halloween. But, I did let the kids dress up. They dress up alot anyways in their play costumes. Usually we go to church and have a fall festival. This year they did a Family Fun Night instead. Above is Blaise on the horse. Our friends have some horses and they brought them for all the kids to ride. We also had a chili cook off. No, I didn't win. I fell somewhere at the bottom. We had a big bonfire and made s'mores. It was so much fun. Thekids played so hard and slept really good that night. Yesterday was official 2 weeks till our Disney Trip!! We are so excited. We are going for Blair's Make*A*Wish! They are sending our whole family to Disney and Sea World for a whole week. The kids are so tickled. They are counting down the days with a paper chain. We took colored paper strips and made a paper chain. Each link has xx days till Disney and a prayer. Such as today was "13 days till Disney!! Pray for volunteers at Give Kids the World." That is where we will be staying. It is a place just for the wish kids and their families. Below is a picture of Brett. Just because he is so adorable!!! (Please excuse the small bruise on his little cheek. He is always falling as he learns to walk!)

I entered the 21st century!

I did it! I got a blog! Now what to do with it? I guess I'll use it to keep family updated on the kids. What goes on in our daily life. That way far away grandparents and Aunts and Uncles and such can keep up with how we are doing. I'll try and post pictures so you can see how big they are getting! I hope you will enjoy it!
